We have dedicated ourselves to the mission of ensuring that the old “Cantos Apostolicos” are never forgotten. We felt challenged and were motivated to undertake this mission by comments provided to us by two very special people; Bishop Daniel Sanchez, president of the Apostolic Assembly in the USA and Bishop Felix Gaxiola Inzunsa, president of the Iglesia Apostolica in Mexico.
Bishop Sanchez said: “Thank you so very much for the great work that you folks are doing. I will cherish and share this work with as many as possible. Keep up this great vision.”
Bishop Felix Gaxiola Inzunsa, president of the Iglesia Apostolica in Mexico wrote “Bro. Larry; Hno. Larry; me dió inmenso gozo leer su correo porque usted es de los mios. ¿Porque?... porque coincidimos en algo que estoy promoviendo en las congregaciones de la Iglesia donde visito, ya que nos esta invadiendo una corriente de modernismo que diluye la identidad musical que son nuestras raices apostolicas. You can see other comments made by Brother Gaxiola on this topic in the "Foro" section under "Comunidad" at www.iafcj.org.
When my husband made his first recording in 2006, we never dreamed it would evolve into a major project. The whole thing began when Bro. Daniel Jauhall, ex-missionary to Panama requested that Larry play and record the song “Misionero Que Anuncias” for him on the saxophone. The list kept growing and before long Larry had recorded over 30 songs. We decided that he should put the recordings on this website and make them available for all that wish to listen to them free on the Internet. Larry created all of the music on the CDs using a synthesizer (keyboard). Although Larry can play the saxophone, piano, guitar, bass, and clarinet, he is quick to point out that his intent in recording these songs is not to “show-off” his talent. His intent is to record as many of the songs that used to be sung in the Apostolic churches in the old days to ensure that the old “Cantos Apostolicos” are never forgotten. The majority of the songs he has recorded were composed by people baptized in Jesus’ name and full of the Holy Ghost.
The response to these songs has been awesome and many have said, by email or phone calls to us, that the songs are a real blessing to them. People requested that we make the songs available on a CD so they can play the songs on their portable CD player or their auto.
We hope and pray that as you listen to, and sing along with these melodies, that you will also be richly blessed. Tell others about this website, or simply tell them to do a search for “Cantos Apostolicos” on the Internet. God bless you, and please pray for this project. Esther Rios
